Gila Monster
Heloderma suspectum
A Gila monster is a venomous lizard, known for its black and pink or orange markings, bead-like scales and painful bite. It has actual venom glands and actively inject venom into its prey or threats. Gila monster spends much of its time in burrows, inhabiting desert areas of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico.
